The year is 2048. The government, which was once meant to help civilization, has turned into a force against all others. Innocent, unsuspecting citizens were kidnapped and tricked into going into an experiment. An experiment known as The Requiem Experiment. What is The Requiem Experiment? It is a confidential experiment run by the government to give those citizens powers, with horrible side effects for the government’s pleasure, and maybe for a little research. Anyways, once you’re in The Requiem Experiment, you can never leave, ever. Unless of course you escape, which is highly unlikely. So don’t get your hopes up kid. Don’t expect to see friends, family, pets, or anyone else again. But again, that’s the price to pay for such a great government, eh?
A buzzing sound was heard from all over the government facility, with no one acknowledging the unexplainable sound. Suddenly, the cement wall exploded open, the dust dizzying the guards. A young man and two others flew out of the room, hitting the walls of the cul de sac. Taking a second to recover, the men quickly stumbled to their feet before the guards got to them. Hiding behind a corner, they watched the guards rush past them, oblivious to the men of different ages behind them. The young man looked around, wiping his face. “My head hurts really bad! I just can’t going around, using my powers to do this kind of shit!” the young man, Ryan Addersom, whispered to the two others. The oldest of them all, who had to be in his early 60s, frowned at him. “If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t be in this situation! We would still be there lab rats, their slaves, their dummies! So don’t whine about, your head hurts, I hate this!” Vince Gotham exclaimed, trying to keep his voice down. But that was no use, as the guards were coming after them. So the group again stumbled to their feet, running around the facility, as if it were like a corn maze.
The three finally made their way out the government facility, leaping into a patch of brown bushes. Footsteps were heard around them, followed by a blood-curdling alarm that could be heard around the whole city. Ryan and the middle aged man looked at Vince, eyes opened wide and panting. “WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING BACK THERE?! WE’VE COULD’VE GOTTEN KILLED BACK THERE YOU LITTLE MOTHERFUCKER!” Ryan yelled, the middle aged man nodding his head in anger. Vince, taken aback by his words, grabbed his heart, as if he were having a heart attack. Ryan looked at the middle aged man in concern, dark brown eyes beading at the older man. “We’ve gotta leave him. Vince is just going to hold us back. You agree Chris? Chris looked down at Vince, then back up to Ryan. “Yeah, I guess, but he’s just going to die here, all alone. Do you want that Ryan, do you? I mean, you were the one who caused him to have it!" Chris exclaimed quietly, crystal blue eyes staring at Ryan. Ryan looked at Chris, biting his tongue before saying anything. The two watched Vince, who was unable to speak, die right before their eyes. The two payed their respects, running away immediately after.
Two hours later, Ryan and Chris made their way to the borderline of the city. With their ankle bracelets on, they couldn't leave the city without being electrocuted. By then they had set up a camp in the side woods, where no one would look for them. Suddenly, Ryan screamed out in pain, grabbing different parts of his body. "Those chemicals they used, those chemicals they used! They hurt! They hurt!" Different parts of his body grew and dissipated, glowing each time. He tossed and turned throughout that night, it being uncomfortable to sleep.
The next morning, the two were sitting in a truck, cuts and baton marks all over their bodies. Ryan looked over to Chris, who was horribly beaten and unconscious, clothes taken off to make it more extreme-looking. Ryan was more horribly beaten, also stripped to make the injuries more extreme. The president and general came into the government truck, each having a gun. The president woke Chris up, holding a gun to his face, while the general held his to Ryan’s face. Chris immediately screamed, upsetting the president. He shot Chris right then and there. Ryan, shocked, also screamed, but the general gave him mercy. He dropped his gun, the president alike. “Why did you try to escape, Ryan Addersom? You were having the time of your life, weren’t you? the president said to Ryan, a sinister smile running across his face. Ryan glared at him, opening his mouth. “Sir, it was living hell in there! Pure shit sir, pure shit! We never got to go outside ever! We never got to eat nutritious food ever!” Immediately, Ryan was knocked out and thrown out of the truck.
Than midnight, he woke up in the same condition as before, stuck in an electric chair. “GET ME OUT OF HERE NOW! THIS IS FUCKING INSANE!” Ryan yelled out, no one else into the room. Every few minutes, a shock was given to him, the wattage intensifying as time went on. Just like before, his skin was bulging in and out, this time his whole body glowing. In between shocks, he screamed, his powers running rampant throughout his body. After the last shock, Ryan nestled down onto the armrest where his forearm was, and took his final breath. His body slipped from the electric chair, body spinning around and around as his powers being released from his body.
In the room outside of where Ryan had died, the president sat in a blood stained swivel chair, clapping his hands like a little kid on his birthday. The same sinister smile that was on his face that morning was present again. “Just what I wanted, general, just what I wanted…….”
